Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall says he was caught off guard by Alberta Premier Alison Redford's resignation yesterday.
Redford left her position amid questions about her leadership and expenditures — both from the opposition and from within her own caucus.
Wall said the pressures of the job can be tough. He wished Redford well.
"The job can take a toll on family and we did get to know each other. And I just wish the best for her," he said.
Redford's resignation is effective as of Sunday night but she will stay on as an MLA.
