Police probe death of infant twins on northern reserve
Police received call about seven-month-old boys not breathing
The RCMP is investigating after seven-month-old twins were found dead on a northern reserve Monday morning.
Police responded to a home on the Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation, located about 55 kilometres west of Meadow Lake, where two baby boys were found not breathing.
Both infants were taken to a hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The cause of death has not yet been determined. Autopsies on the twins will take place on Wednesday.
Police said like with all sudden deaths, officers will be treating the incident as suspicious until proven otherwise.
The RCMP Major Crimes Unit North continues to investigate.
