Police in Regina are still piecing together what happened — and who is responsible — for a house fire and homicide on Wascana Street.

Fire crews were called about a fire at 1450 Wascana St. early Sunday morning. After the fire was doused, a body was found inside. Police said an autopsy has led them to believe that Ray Allen Yacevich, 53, was the victim of homicide.

CBC News spoke to people in the area, many of whom said they did not know the people who lived the house although one neighbour told CBC News that the home has been the scene of loud parties.

"Didn't see nothing," the neighbour said. "Just a lot of yelling [and] partying after 12 o'clock at night. That's when it happens."

According to police, two other adults lived in the house but their whereabouts are not known. Rosalyn Wilm, 41, and her  daughter Sarah, 22, have not been heard from since the Saturday before the fire.

Police said their first concern is for the well being of the two women.
