Police in North Battleford, Sask., are on the lookout for someone impersonating one of them.

It happened at a home early Tuesday morning, the RCMP said.

A man described as clean cut, wearing a shirt with the word "Police" on it knocked on the door.

He wanted to enter the house and identified himself as a police officer.

When the occupants wouldn't let him in, he took off.

He was last seen leaving in a tan or white car.

The incident was not consistent with any legitimate police activity, the RCMP said.
