Police chase snowmobiler down Saskatoon streets
A 20-year-old man is facing several charges after he led police on a chase through Saskatoon on a snowmobile.
Police noticed a snowmobile in the area of 109th Street and Egbert Avenue at about 11:30 p.m. CST Friday.
Saskatoon has a bylaw that prohibits driving a snowmobile on city streets.
The officers went after the driver trying to stop him, but instead of slowing down the man tried to flee.
Police said the driver failed to stop at stop signals and continued on while police chased after him at a speed of about 60 km/h.
The snowmobile took a turn down an alley trying to lose police, but officers caught him when he tried to park the vehicle in his own garage.
The man now faces charges including failing to stop for police as well as several traffic safety act charges.
