Workers at an agricultural equipment plant in Regina were walking the picket line Monday in -31 C weather.
About 50 members of the United Steelworkers union were out on the picket line at 8 a.m. CST. With the wind factored in, it felt like -43 in the morning.
The 150 unionized employees at Degelman Industries at 272 Industrial Dr. on the north edge of the city served strike notice last Thursday.
After that, the company issued lockout notice.
The union and Degelman came to an agreement last November, but workers rejected the proposed collective agreement.
The company said in a press release that the deal would have been better than the rate of inflation.
Workers CBC News spoke with said talks aren't taking place right now, but the union wants to get back to the bargaining table.
