Occupy tents removed from Regina park
Police and bylaw officers went in Wednesday morning and removed unoccupied and unclaimed tents that had been set up by Occupy protesters on Oct. 15.
There were no protesters there when officers arrived at 5 a.m. CST, police said.
Police said people will be able to claim their tents and possessions later.
The city served eviction notices last week and ticketed seven of the protesters on Monday for staying in the park past 11 p.m. Two more people were ticketed on Tuesday night.
In Saskatoon, the occupiers left Gabriel Dumont Park on Monday following a visit from police.
The protesters are part of the worldwide Occupy movement that's been camping out to raise awareness about economic injustice.
