A Moose Jaw woman has been sentenced to four years in prison for her part in a disturbing series of sex offences involving young children.

Audrey Black, 30, pleaded guilty to sexual interference with two young girls, and making pornographic videotapes and pictures involving three girls. She also pleaded guilty to bestiality with a dog.

Court heard the incidents, which involved sexual touching, happened in 2005 and 2006 while Black and her husband, Donald William Black, were babysitting three girls who at the time were five, four and 18 months old.

The Blacks have two small boys of their own. Police searched the Black home last year after social workers reported that the boys had been making sexually explicit comments. They seized videotapes, still pictures and hundreds of pornographic images.

"Early on, I was involved with the police and had to watch a number of the videos, and certainly the content was disturbing," Crown prosecutor Rob Parker said.

Donald Black, 49, had previously been sentenced to eight years in prison for sexual interference and making child pornography.

Audrey Black's lawyer,Merv Shaw, said she is intellectually impaired and was pressured by her husband.

"The husband always maintained he was the main culprit and always maintained that his wife had a lesser role to play," Shaw said.

Despite that, Shaw says a psychological assessment done on Audrey Black indicates she knew what she did was wrong.

The Black boys and two of the little girls are now in foster care.
