What began as a traffic stop escalated to a foot chase and culminated in a drug bust for members of the Moose Jaw Police Service early Monday morning.

Just after midnight, at approximately 12:30 a.m. CST, police stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Forth Avenue NE. and Fairford Street E.

The driver of the vehicle jumped out of the vehicle and hoofed it. A chase ensued, involving police and a canine unit. The driver was stopped and arrested.

Police found cocaine and meth in the vehicle and the driver was charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. He was also charged with resisting arrest and breach of recognizance.

He will appear in court Monday morning.
