Memorial Cup draws fans from across the country
The Memorial Cup is underway in Saskatoon and it's drawing thousands of fans from across the country to cheer on some of the top NHL prospects.
Robert Tommasini is in Saskatoon from Kamloops, B.C., to watch the games, and his passion is widespread. He was wearing a London Knights jersey, with four more sweaters underneath.
"I got Swift Current, Saskatoon, Halifax, Portland and another 29 jerseys at my hotel room."
For Tommasini nothing beats this brand of hockey.
"All the young players play their hearts out wanting to be in the National Hockey League."
Ed Medin, a diehard Red Deer Rebels fan, was in the city from Rocky Mountain House, Alta., for his seventh Memorial Cup.
"You go to the games to meet the people," said Medin. "People here are just fantastic."
The Memorial Cup continues all week next week, with the tournament final scheduled for next Sunday.
