A man from McLean, Sask., has been charged with careless use of a firearm after a bullet went into a house and lodged in the ceiling.

It happened Monday in McLean, which is about 35 kilometres east of Regina.

Police said they were called after a .40 calibre rifle bullet struck a house at around 8 p.m. CST.

The house was full of people at the time, but no one was hurt, the RCMP said.

Police executed a search warrant at a different house on Tuesday and a 47-year-old man was arrested.

He's scheduled to appear in provincial court in Indian Head on March 19.
