A man from Steinbach, Man., is dead after his motorcycle crashed on the Trans-Canada Highway in southwest Saskatchewan.

It happened about 16 kilometres northwest of Maple Creek at around 6:20 p.m. CST on Monday, the RCMP said.

Police said the 63-year-old driver was heading west when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed.

No one else was involved in the crash.

The man was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Maple Creek where he was later pronounced dead.

The collision is still under investigation. Police haven't released the man's name.
