Man shot, killed in hunting accident
A 32-year-old man has been killed after being shot in a hunting accident on the Star Blanket First Nation.
Police said two different groups of hunters were in the same area at about dusk on Sunday.
Two men from one party fired at what they believed to be an elk in the bush, but instead hit a 32-year-old from the other group.
The man, who is from the Start Blanket First Nation, died from the gunshot wound. His family has been notified, but they did not want his name to be released.
An investigation has determined alcohol and drugs are not considered to be factors in the incident.
A 21-year-old man from Star Blanket First Nation and 19-year-old man from Black Bear First Nation have been charged with careless use of a firearm.
The Star Blanket First Nation is located about 90 kilometres northeast of Regina.
