A man accused of stealing a truck, driving drunk and being in a hit-and-run with a school bus is in custody in North Battleford facing various charges.
The crash happened in the city just after 8:30 a.m. CST on Wednesday.
RCMP didn't say how many people were on the bus at the time, but there were no injuries.
Witnesses said the driver of the red truck involved in the crash immediately fled the scene.
A vehicle matching the same description had been spotted being driven erratically earlier that morning.
Police caught up with the driver later in the morning. While talking to him, the owner of the truck spotted his vehicle and said it was his and had been stolen.
A 24-year-old man has been charged with impaired driving, driving while disqualified, possession of stolen property and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.
He made his first appearance in North Battleford provincial court on Thursday morning.
