Man dies after van crashes into slough near Neudorf, Sask.
Alcohol may have been a factor, RCMP says
A man is dead after the minivan he was driving crashed into a water-filled slough in southeast Saskatchewan.
It happened around 11 p.m. CST Sunday, about two kilometres west of Neudorf.
The victim is a 55-year-old whose name and home community haven't been released by police.
RCMP said the van was heading east on Highway 22 when it crossed the road, went into a ditch and hit a culvert. The van then went into a slough and rolled, ending up on its roof.
Rescue crews were able to get the driver out of the vehicle, but were not able to resuscitate him.
He was declared dead at the scene.
Alcohol may have been a factor, police said.
The man's family has been notified.
