Man charged in Chitek Lake death
Spiritwood RCMP were called to an altercation at the hotel around 1:30 p.m. CST on Saturday, Oct. 1.
Upon arrival, they found the body of 46-year-old Jones Thomas, also from the Pelican Lake First Nation.
In a news release, RCMP said Thomas died from unknown injuries. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
Police have charged Frederick Charles Harris, 38, with manslaughter. He made his first court appearance in North Battleford on Monday.
The Pelican Lake First Nation is located on the shores of Chitek Lake, 275 kilometres northwest of Saskatoon.
