Man, 69, stabbed himself at Regina's Pasqua Hospital, police say
Rushed to Regina General for treatment
Police in Regina say their investigation into a stabbing incident has led them to conclude that a 69-year-old man stabbed himself while at the Pasqua Hospital Monday morning.
It happened in a waiting area around 10 a.m. CST.
The injured man was transferred to the Regina General Hospital, which has a trauma unit.
Police initially reported that their investigation had them looking for a suspect and that a robbery may have been involved. That changed in the afternoon when they reported that their investigation, which involved security at the hospital, indicated the man's injuries were self-inflicted.
The Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region did not say if the injured man was a patient, staff member or visitor.
Police said the man was in hospital undergoing treatment for his injuries.
