An 18-year-old man is in custody facing charges following an 11-hour long standoff with police near Esterhazy, Sask., Friday.
According to RCMP, the man — who is from the Churchbridge area — refused to come out of his home after an argument with a family member Friday morning.
Police said they believed there were several guns in the home, along with ammunition.
It led to a prolonged standoff at the scene involving officers from a number of detachments in the area.
Police said they finally convinced the man to leave the house, peacefully, around 10:30 p.m. CST Friday.
While the man was taken into custody and will be facing charges, police did not specify what charges they were contemplating.
Esterhazy is about 180 kilometres east of Regina.
