One man has been placed under arrest following a "high risk" search at a residence in Yorkton, Sask., according to RCMP. 

Police notified the public of an increased police presence in the city's core Wednesday morning, with several streets being blocked off.

By the afternoon, RCMP confirmed that a "high risk" search had been done at a residence on Agriculture Avenue. 

The search involved officers with the emergency response team and police dog services. 

Police say one man has been arrested, although no charges have been laid. 

Officers recovered a modified firearm during the search.

Police say no one was injured.
