After 100 years, last call has come and gone at the bar at Saskatoon's Patricia Hotel.

The well-known watering hole The Pats closed Tuesday night, after it and the attached hotel were sold to a Vancouver developer.

Britney York, who had been a server in the hotel's bar for three years, says the staff was told about the closing on Monday.

"It's a shock. It's a big shock to everyone," York said. "They weren't expecting it to go this fast and with very little notice, so it's going to be an adjustment to see this buildling go."

A Vancouver company has purchased the property at 345 2nd Ave. N.

According to a real estate agent connected to the property, it's expected the hotel will be torn down soon.
