Lawrence Fred Adam, who is at high risk to reoffend, is living in a halfway house in Regina. (Regina Police)

Police in Regina want residents to be aware of a high risk offender living in a halfway house in the community.

Lawrence Fred Adam, 46, has served time for violent assaults and sexual assaults.

In one case he repeatedly beat a man in the head with a hammer. Adam also has two convictions for sexual assault of young girls.

Adam recently completed a six year sentence for sexually assaulting a woman he did not know, in a public place, in broad daylight. He is now on an eight-year long monitoring program, which begins with six months at a halfway house in Regina.

According to the Parole Board of Canada, Adam has completed a number of treatment programs but he is known to act on impulse, especially if he has been drinking.

The board believes it is likely Adam will offend again.

Police noted Adam is 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs 257 pounds. He has a scar on his left cheek and numerous tattoos on his arms including that of a heart and arrow on his left forearm.  He has tattoos of a rose, winged skull and scorpion on his right forearm and tattoos of a heart and cross on his right hand.
