Grader stalls, slips into Saskatchewan River
A grader is still sitting at the bottom of the South Saskatchewan River after it stalled on a driver in Saskatoon and slid into the water.
The driver who was working in Diefenbaker Park had enough time to jump off the machine before it fell into the river.
Fire crews were called to the scene at about 10:25 a.m. CST where they found the grader completely submerged and the operator uninjured.
Two trucks were called to pull the grader from the water, but officials said the the current was moving too fast.
They're waiting until the river goes down and it's safer to reach it.
About 450 litres of fuel and other fluids are on board, but none of liquid has leaked into the water, fire officials said.
