A former Saskatchewan Roughrider says his Grey Cup ring was stolen out of his car in Moose Jaw, Sask. sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning.

Matt Dominguez told CBC News he had attended an event in Estevan, Sask. Friday, then went straight to a golf tournament in Moose Jaw.

"The Grey Cup ring is really big, so I took it off and put it in the centre console of my car," he said, adding he forgot to take it inside when he got to his home in Moose Jaw late that night.

He realized it was missing when he went to load up his car Saturday morning for a flag football league he started in Moose Jaw.

"I realized that my glove box was open, my middle console, there was papers shifted everywhere, so then I realized that my car had been gone through and I didn't have my Grey Cup ring anymore."

Dominguez said he usually keeps nothing of value in his car, and is not sure if he locked the doors once he got home.

The former wide receiver signed with the Riders in 2003 and went to win the Grey Cup with them in 2007.

"It's a great accomplishment," he said  "There's probably only 150 guys in the world that's got a Saskatchewan Roughrider Grey Cup ring, and I was one of them."

Along with the ring Dominquez also had his watch stolen, and said he would prefer not to go to the police if the thief returns his possessions.

Dominquez said he has the ring insured, but just wants the thief to bring it back.

"Return it. You didn't earn it. I'm not going to do anything. And then once you return it, stay out of people's cars."
