Twenty-nine teenagers at a youth jail in Regina are being moved because of concerns about flooding.

The move, set for Thursday, will happen at the Paul Dojack Centre on the western edge of the city.

The facility is near Wascana Creek, which is overflowing its banks following a winter of near-record snow.

Three empty units had water in them over the weekend and there's concern there could be more flooding in the occupied sections.

The teens will be moved to Yorkton, Saskatoon, North Battleford and Fort Qu'Appelle and will be there for three to four weeks, government officials said.
