Saskatoon church fire

A Saskatoon church has suffered damaged to its roof after a fire broke out Saturday afternoon. 

Firefighters responded to the call at Sacred Heart Chaldean Church on Lansdowne Ave. after workers on the church roof called to report the fire at just before 1 p.m. CST. 

The church was evacuated while fire crews on the roof determined was burning. 

Firefighters used a chainsaw to open the roof up to get to the flames. 

The cause and amount of damage are undetermined at this time. No one was injured in the fire.
