Sask plane crash

RCMP said Monday that a father and son died in a plane crash near Torquay Sunday. (RCMP)

A father and son have been identified as the two people who died when their small plane crashed Sunday near Torquay, Sask.  

According to RCMP, Phillip Wimmer, 59 and Bradley Wimmer, 29, died when the Cessna 172 plane they were in crashed, shortly after 10 a.m. CST Sunday.

Police said the crashed plane was found shortly after it was reported late for its expected arrival.

It had departed from a a private airstrip near Torquay and was traveling to Lampman.

The crash is being investigated by the Transportation Safety Board.

Torquay is about 200 km south of Regina.
