A father and son who died in a plane crash Sunday were flying to a Father's Day breakfast, family members say.
Phil Wimmer, 59, and his son Brad Wimmer, 29, farmed in the Tribune and Oungre areas of Saskatchewan.
Their Cessna plane crashed just outside Torquay around 10 a.m. Sunday. The pair were headed for Lampman.
"The weather was bad," Charlene Wimmer, Phil Wimmer's wife and Brad Wimmer mother, told CBC News Tuesday. "It looked like he was was maybe trying to land. Nobody knows. And we don't want to know."
The Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.
Meanwhile, the Wimmer family is grieving.
"Phil would help anybody, anytime," his widow said. "He loved his kids, loved his grandkids. He loved his nephews, his nieces. He loved everybody."
