Farmer drowns in cistern south of Regina
Death not believed suspicious, RCMP says
A 56-year-old man has died after drowning in a cistern on his farm south of Regina.
RCMP were called to scene Sunday afternoon and found the body on a property in the Rural Municipality of Bratt's Lake, north of the community of Milestone.
Police said their investigation showed the man had been performing maintenance to his farm cistern — an underground water tank — when it happened.
The man's name hasn't been released at the request of family, the RCMP said.
The case is being investigated by the Provincial Coroner's Office and an autopsy has been ordered. However, the death is not considered suspicious, the RCMP said.
