A former official with the Saskatchewan School Boards Association has received damages and legal costs relating to a wrongful dismissal lawsuit, launched five years ago.
Ardith Stephanson was a senior official with the association when she and the group's executive director were abruptly fired in March of 2008.
At the time, Stephanson said she was humiliated by what happened and was devastated by the loss of her career. She had been with the association for ten years.
In a news release, issued Friday, it was revealed that Stephanson had reached an out-of-court settlement with the association to end the lawsuit.
While Stephanson was provided damages and legal costs, the amount was not disclosed.
At the time of the dismissals, Stephanson and the executive director said they suspected they had been falsely accused of bullying, but were adamant they had done nothing wrong.
