Regina's Evraz steel mill will not be laying off hundreds of employees after all.
Layoff notices were issued to more than 400 people on Jan. 6, when the company ran into shipping problems related to a shortage of rail cars.
The layoffs were originally set for Jan. 20, then the date was extended to Jan. 27.
But last week, the layoff notices were rescinded.
A spokesman for the United Steelworkers union local 5890 told CBC News that the company has apparently resolved its rail car problem.
