An underwater recovery team has been deployed to Deschambault Lake in northern Saskatchewan to join the search for two boaters, missing since Saturday.

Steven Ballantyne and Roderick Eninew, both 32, were last seen on an island in the the lake on June 10, RCMP said Wednesday. The pair, who were with a recreational fishing group, said they were going to check out some other fishing spots.

On Saturday, the RCMP were notified when the men were overdue returning home to the community of Deschambault Lake. Since then, police and community members have been searching the area for the men.

Police said that they have found the men's small aluminum boat and a jacket, thought to belong to one of the men, which was plucked from the water near the boat.

The search has included aircraft from the Civilian Air Search Rescue Association and some ground searches.

Police said their underwater team arrived Wednesday and has started to assist with the search.
