Death of Regina man, 50, deemed a homicide
4th homicide of 2014 in Regina, police say
A 50-year-old man who showed up at a Regina hospital early Thursday morning suffering from an apparent assault has died and police now say they are investigating a homicide.
According to a statement by police, issued Friday night, the man entered the emergency room of a Regina hospital with life-threatening injuries around 3 a.m. CST Thursday.
Police launched an investigation right away and were still looking into what happened when they received word the man had died.
They have now re-categorized the case as a homicide investigation and will work on it in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner.
They said the name of the man who died would not be released right away.
