The Crown is appealing Regina doctor Edward Poon's two-year sentence for sexually assaulting two patients.

Poon, 60, assaulted the women during medical examinations in 2008.

On Tuesday, the Crown also served notice it is appealing Poon's acquittals on four charges of sexual assault.

Poon has not begun serving his sentence because his lawyer has filed an appeal of his convicton. Poon has been released on bail.

At the trial in June, the judge instructed the jury to consider each of the six counts of sexual assault separately.

In its notice of appeal, the Crown said the jury should have been allowed to consider the charges in relation to each other.
