A four-vehicle highway crash just north of North Battleford, Sask. has claimed the life of a 63-year-old woman.

The crash happened around 2 p.m. Tuesday on Highway 4, about five kilometres north of the city.

A truck that had been pulling a utility trailer lost control and hit an oncoming car, the RCMP said.

The woman, who was a passenger in the car, died instantly.

The male drivers of the car and truck were both taken to hospital, where they were treated for their injuries and released.

Two other cars collided while trying to avoid the original accident.

Police haven't released the name of the woman who died.

The RCMP has brought in collision analysts from Prince Albert and Saskatoon to help with the investigation.
