Couple's attempted tryst at legislature's dome leads to ticket
A couple who climbed some scaffolding at the provincial legislature in Regina, looking for a make-out spot, ended up leaving with a ticket for trespassing.
The pair were spotted on security cameras Thursday and Regina police threw a wet blanket on their plans.
The scaffolding at the legislature is for workers doing repairs to the building's dome.
Officials said Friday that they have beefed up security at the site.
"We are putting in meshing around the scaffolding," Richard Murray, from the Ministry of Central Services, told CBC News. "We're putting in some additional lighting. We're putting in some additional security cameras. And we're posting some further signage. We've got an enhanced locking mechanism out on the perimeter fencing as well."
Murray said the changes were made immediately after learning of the attempted tryst.
