Coroner's inquest set for man shot in Prince Albert, Sask.
Ryan Natomagan-Nelson, 26, died last year following altercation with city police
A coroner's inquest will be held next month into the death of Ryan Natomagan-Nelson, who was fatally shot in an altercation with police last year.
Natomagan-Nelson, 26, died on July 9, 2013.
CBC News was told at the time that officers responding to a domestic incident were dispatched to a building where they were confronted by a man with a knife.
While police didn't provide details about the encounter, they did say the man was shot by both officers.
A jury at the public inquest will determine the medical cause of death and the manner of death. It can also make recommendations to prevent similar deaths in the future.
Coroner Brent Gough of Saskatoon will preside at the inquest, which will be held Sept. 8-12 at the Prince Albert Travelodge Hotel.
