A puppy is lucky to be alive after falling into a heating system of a home in Prince Albert, Sask., on Saturday.

Yoshi, a white and brown Chihuahua, had somehow made his way into the duct work and couldn't get out.

The owners called the city's fire department, fearing the worst after the animal had been stuck in there for about an hour.

"The little puppy was playing and fell into one of the heating vents ... an uncovered heating vent," said Battalion Chief Curtis Mickelson.

Firefighters were able to disassemble portions of the heating system and were able to get animal out safely.
