Car hits embroidery store
Employees got a surprise when a car slammed into a Regina embroidery store Tuesday, but fortunately nobody needed stitches.
Police said neither the driver of the Mercury Sable nor the employees working at the Impressions in Thread store were injured when the car slammed into a wall.
It happened around 9 a.m. CST at the corner of Saskatchewan Drive and Arcola Avenue. Police said the car was heading west on Arcola, went out of control, accelerated on the sidewalk and hit the front of the store.
Those inside were asked to stay put while firefighters worked to remove the car. Firefighters pulled down a section of the brick because it was at risk of collapsing. A 55-year-old woman has been charged under the Traffic Safety Act with driving at an unsafe speed.
