Saskatoon police have taken a 12-year-old boy into custody following threats to blow up a Saskatoon child care facility.
A "threatening text" message came into the daycare on the 3200 block of 33rd St. W. at around noon, police said.
Staff and children were evacuated from the building as a precaution. Police officers were able to determine there was no immediate threat to their safety.
Police traced the text to a phone that was in the possession of a 12-year-old boy.
The phone had been stolen and, according to the police, had been used to make other threats.
The youth is facing a charge of possession of stolen property as well as one count of mischief and two counts of sending false messages via telephone with intent to injure or alarm any person.
He will be seen by a Justice of the Peace to determine if he should remain in detention.
Police said they continue to investigate the incident.
