Bonnie Lysyk changes mind again, takes job as Ont. auditor
She changed her mind once, and now she's changing it again — Saskatchewan's provincial auditor will be leaving for Ontario after all.
In June, Bonnie Lysyk announced she had taken a job as the Auditor General in Ontario, but last month she said she'd decided to stay in Saskatchewan because it was where she really wanted to be.
Monday, it was announced Lysyk had another change of heart. She has confirmed she will be assuming the Ontario position starting in September.
"It has been a difficult personal and professional decision for me to leave Saskatchewan and especially my staff at the Provincial Audit Office, which is why I initially reversed my original decision," said Lysyk in a press release.
"However, for personal reasons, I am following through with my original decision to serve as the Auditor General of Ontario."
Lysyk was appointed Saskatchewan's auditor in April of 2011.
The province has now appointed Judy Ferguson as the acting auditor of Saskatchewan until a new person is chosen for the job.
Ferguson has worked as the Assistant Provincial Auditor in 2012 and currently leads the financial services division.
Lysyk will start her new job in Ontario on Sept. 3.
