Police have released the name of a 22-year-old Yorkton, Sask., man whose body was found in the Whitesand River on Thursday afternoon.

The body of Bryan Adam Odell was found by civilian searchers who were assisting the RCMP.

According to police, a witness saw Odell fall into the water at the Canora Dam, east of the town of Canora on Sept. 14, around 12:30 p.m. CST.

Police have not said what led to Odell's fall.

The search for the man was hampered by high water levels and a swifter than usual current, police said.

The Canora Dam is located approximately four kilometres east of the town. Canora is about 230 kilometres northeast of Regina.
