Body discovered in water in Regina neighbourhood

An underwater recovery team was called to a storm channel in Regina Wednesday after there were reports of a body in the water.

An underwater recovery team was called to a storm channel in Regina Wednesday after there were reports of a body in the water.

The call was made just before noon, and recovery efforts were underway near the intersection of 1st Avenue and Albert Street.

A storm channel runs through the area, west of Albert Street.

According to police, the body of a 22-year-old woman was found in the channel. Police indicated that the person was not a reported missing person.

A coroner was also called to the scene.
