An accident involving an all-terrain vehicle has claimed the life of a 51-year-old Saskatchewan man from the Lloydminster area.
It happened Wednesday night as the Lone Rock man was driving an ATV on Highway 48 near Glenavon.
The RCMP said he had been driving on the pavement when, at around 10 p.m., he lost control and crossed the highway.
He then hit the ditch and was thrown off the machine onto the shoulder of the road.
Rescue crews took him to hospital, where he died a short time later.
The RCMP hasn't released the man's name.
Lone Rock is about 10 kilometres east of the Alberta-Saskatchewan border.
