6 vehicles involved in chain reaction
An ambulance was among six vehicles involved in a chain reaction of crashes west of Regina on Wednesday.
It happened in a blizzard during the mid-afternoon on Highway 1 between Belle Plaine and Pense.
The initial crash was a car rear-ending a semi-truck. An ambulance was sent to the scene, but when it arrived, it was struck by a sport utility vehicle. A woman who was part of the EMS crew was injured.
That was followed by two other vehicles crashing at the same place.
Tow trucks were still pulling vehicles out of the ditch Thursday morning.
Police said several people were injured and went to hospital, but none of the injuries was life-threatening.
