Adam Weber, a star athlete who has been on the roster in the NFL, will be joining the Saskatchewan Roughriders as an import quarterback. Details of the contract were not provided.

Weber, 6'3" and 210 pounds, spent three seasons with the NFL on the practice rosters of first Denver and then Tampa Bay.

Previously, Weber, 26, spent four seasons at the University of Minnesota where he played 50 career collegiate games, the Riders said.

He is currently ranked third all-time in Big Ten passing yards with 10,917 and touchdowns with 72. Weber was also named to the 2007 Big Ten All-Freshmen team after throwing for 2,895 yards and 24 touchdowns; both single season school records.
