5 youths charged over Regina garage fire
Four teenagers and a 12-year-old boy have been charged with arson after a garage was set on fire on the west side of Regina on Sunday night.
A report of the fire on the 1900 block of York St. came in shortly before 8 p.m. CST, police said.
Police said a group of young males was seen leaving the area.
Five boys were arrested, including a 17-year-old, a 15-year-old, two 13-year-olds and a 12-year-old.
They've all been charged with arson with disregard for human life.
It's alleged a youth pointed a gun at a homeowner on the street earlier in the evening.
In addition to arson, one of the 13-year-olds was charged with possession of a weapon, pointing a weapon and assault.
The older boys are also charged with possession of a weapon.
The other 13-year-old and the 12-year-old were charged with obstructing a police officer.
Police seized an imitation firearm, a hatchet, and a knife.
The five, who cannot be named under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, are scheduled to appear in Youth Court at 2 p.m.
