4 youth charged after string of cabin break-ins near Cochin, Sask.

Four youth between the ages of 12 and 14 were charged over the weekend after a number of cabins near Cochin, Sask. were broken into and one was set on fire, RCMP say.

Four youth between the ages of 12 and 14 were charged over the weekend after a number of cabins near Cochin, Sask. were broken into and one was set on fire, RCMP say.

RCMP said they were called to the seasonal residences late in the afternoon on Saturday. A small fire had been started in one of the cabins. Investigators determined the blaze was set deliberately.

The fire caused at least $10,000 in damages.

On Sunday, RCMP arrested four suspects after they returned to the scene of the crime and were located by witnesses.

The youth are facing several charges, including arson and break and enter. They've been released from custody with conditions until their appearance at North Battleford Provincial Court on Feb.18.

Cochin is located about 170 kilometres northwest of Saskatoon.
