Two men, a woman and a teenage boy are facing a total of 222 charges between them including attempted murder after a series of gun-related incidents in the city overnight — including a shooting and three robberies.

The first was just before 11 p.m. when a teenage boy was shot in the hip on the 900 block of Montague Street in the North Central area.

The 16-year-old boy, whose injuries are not life-threatening, told police a car had pulled up alongside him, words were exchanged and he was shot.

Before entering the second business, the suspects allegedly pointed a gun at, and attempted to rob, a 20-year-old male who was just outside the store. Inside the business, a 29-year-old man working at the store was hit in the face with a gun and another man was robbed of his wallet.

Within an hour and a half, there were three armed robberies in the city, each involving a weapon and the same suspect vehicle, a black Dodge Charger, which police say had been stolen.

The businesses that were robbed include the Jolly Roger offsale on 5th Avenue, a 7-Eleven convenience store on Quance Street, and the South Travelodge hotel offsale.

Police tracked down the suspect vehicle and arrested four people. One of the suspects fled by foot, but was eventually tracked down by the police canine unit. All four were taken in for questioning.

Officers searched the car and seized several items including a rifle, two zip guns, ammunition, spent ammunition casings, alcohol and cash.

An 18-year-old man, 22-year-old man, 23-year-old woman and 17-year-old boy are all facing charges including attempted murder, four charges of robberies and six assault charges.

The spree follows a series of gun incidents on the weekend, that resulted in three men – one 20 years old and two others both 25 years old – being charged with 11 counts of various Criminal Code offences.

Police seized an undisclosed amount of cocaine, bear spray and a .22-calibre homemade gun also known as a zip-gun, along with bullets.

Police said Tuesday they're looking into whether there's any connection between the weekend incidents and the overnight ones.
