4 in hospital after vehicle lands in construction pit

Four people were transported to hospital after a crash in Saskatoon Saturday night.

Police believe the driver ignored construction signs and barriers in the area

Police say disregarding road signs around a construction site led to a driver losing control and ending up in an excavated pit in Saskatoon Saturday evening.

The four people in the vehicle were taken to hospital with what police believe are non-life-threatening injuries.

The car was headed north on Spadina Crescent near Saskatoon's water treatment plant at around 9:30 p.m. CST. Officers believe the vehicle lost control, and ended up in the pit, rupturing a water main in the process.

Saskatoon Police believe alcohol and speeding are factors in the crash. They believe the driver disobeyed the traffic signs and barriers near the construction site.
