Three teenagers, including a 16-year-old girl, are accused of attacking and almost beating a 35-year-old man to death in Regina's Central Park early Wednesday morning.

Police announced the charges Thursday afternoon, adding the victim remains in hospital.

The accused are:

  • A 19-year-old male.
  • An 18-year-old male.
  • A 16-year-old female.

Police did not provide any other additional information, Thursday, but confirmed they were called around 3:30 a.m. CST Wednesday to respond to a report that a group of people were beating up a male victim in a Central Park, near 14th Avenue and Scarth Street. When officers arrived the group scattered although some suspects were taken into custody.

The police investigation led to one person being released without being charged and the three others being charged with aggravated assault.

Police added their investigation continues.
